Grants FAQ

It depends on the measure and your home. A heat pump can attract up to €12,500 for a house, and individual measures like attic and wall insulation, windows, solar and heating controls each have their own grant. Many grants stack. We confirm your eligibility at a free home visit.

For individual grants you typically pay the contractor and the SEAI grant is paid to you (or assigned to the contractor) after the work is approved. For the One Stop Shop route the provider usually nets the grant off your price.

Yes. Individual energy upgrade grants are designed to stack (for example attic insulation plus a heat pump). A few combinations are restricted (heating controls cannot be combined with the heat pump grant).

Yes. Your grant must be approved by SEAI before any work begins, and the work must be carried out by an SEAI-registered contractor. Starting early can disqualify the grant.

Up to €12,500 on qualifying home heat pump upgrades. The exact amount for any individual home is decided by SEAI, so it is never a guaranteed figure for a specific house. We check what you qualify for at your free home visit and handle the SEAI paperwork.

A typical air-to-water heat pump from The Powerhouse costs €19,800 supplied and installed, before the grant. SEAI grants of up to €12,500 are available on qualifying home heat pump upgrades, and your exact figure is confirmed after a survey of your home.

RGI is Registered Gas Installers (RGI), and by law anyone carrying out domestic gas work in Ireland must be a Registered Gas Installer. The Powerhouse is RGI registered, number C0176, and every gas job we complete comes with a Declaration of Conformance.
