Terms of Service

These Terms apply to your use of this website and to the services you arrange from Athena Enterprises Ltd, trading as The Powerhouse (“we”, “us”, “our”). Please read them carefully. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.

Our services

We provide home heating and plumbing services across Ireland, including boiler servicing, repair and replacement; heat pump installation and oil-to-heat-pump conversions; and plumbing, together with help understanding SEAI and local-authority grants. Insulation is not carried out by us; insulation enquiries are passed, with your consent, to a separate insulation company (a different business from us).

Information, quotes and grants

Information on this website is provided in good faith as general guidance. Any prices shown are indicative and are confirmed in writing after we assess your home. The final quote may differ once we have surveyed the job. Grant amounts and eligibility are decided by SEAI or your local authority, not by us; any grant figures on this site are a guide only and are not a promise that you will qualify or receive a particular amount.

Booking and payments

Using our form to book a free home visit or request a service is a request for us to contact you; it does not create a binding contract until we confirm the work with you.

When a payment is due, it is taken securely online via Stripe, our payment processor. Depending on the job, we may ask for full payment, a part-payment, or a deposit (advance payment) before we begin, with any balance due after the work is completed. We will always make clear how much is payable and what it covers before you pay. As set out above, prices remain subject to survey and written confirmation.

Cancellation, cooling-off and refunds

Where you enter into a service contract with us at a distance (for example by phone or online) or away from our premises, you generally have a 14-day right to cancel under Irish and EU consumer law, without giving a reason.

• If you ask us to begin work during the 14-day period and the work is then fully completed, you may lose the right to cancel.
• If you cancel after work has begun with your agreement, you may have to pay for what has already been done.

Refunds. If you cancel and we have not yet started the work, we will refund any payment or deposit you have made, less any costs we have reasonably incurred at your request (for example materials already ordered for your job). Where work has begun or been completed at your request, that work is payable, and any refund will reflect what is left undone. We aim to process refunds promptly using the same payment method you used. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.

Your responsibilities

Please give us accurate information and safe access to your home so we can carry out the work. You confirm that you are the homeowner or are otherwise authorised to arrange the work.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, we carry out our work with reasonable care and skill, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Complaints

If something isn’t right, please contact us at admin@thepowerhouse.ie and we’ll work to put it right.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law rules in Ireland.

We may update these Terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows the latest version.
